WIP Wednesday, which is now apparently just me trawling through my literal dozens of partially started stories and finding bits to share and possibly motivate me! This is a VHope where they meet when drunk Yoongi wants them both to hold his hands as he falls asleep
"But it's hard," says Hoseok, and his voice is very small. "Here in the city. You meet people all the time but it's not really meeting them. It's nothing permanent." Another nod, this one less bone-deep but still understanding, and Hoseok sighs. "It's hard to fall in love." That changes the understanding, and Taehyung leans forward. "Falling in love is easy," he says. "It's so fast. Always. A little riff of the trumpet and it's there. But staying in love… yeah that's hard." Hoseok considers, looking at the sweep of Yoongi's hair across his forehead, the contrast against the pale of his skin, and he thinks yeah, he was in love. Not a lot, not enough to ever see, but enough to exist. He fell and then it was gone. It didn't stay. "I guess you're right," says Hoseok. "But it's all for the best. He's got that whole Namjoon thing." They both roll their eyes in tandem. "I was there when they met. That was a trip and a half. And now they've been in love so long they forgot to fall. Sort of ass-backwards if you ask me. But they don't ask me, so I'm staying out of it." "Me too," says Hoseok. "I tried to talk to them about it once and that was one time too many." "You're very brave," says Taehyung, and he says it totally straight which means Hoseok has to try to muffle his laughter with only one of his hands free. When he's done he looks back up, and Taehyung's watching him with a happy smile. He seems happy, mostly, for all he's beautiful, and Hoseok wonders if those two things go together somehow. Hoseok's eyes have adjusted to the gloom by now and he can't help but notice small details, like the straight line of his nose, the unbalanced eyes, the way his ears curve out and around but don't take up too much space. He wonders what it would be like, to be that beautiful all the time, but he doesn't think he'd wear it as well as Taehyung. "I'm guessing a lot of people fall in love with you," he says. WIP Wednesday, a Leverage-inspired heist fic that's never made it past 5K words but what if...........?
"In conclusion," says Taehyung, "I would be a great mastermind, and may in fact already be one. Thank you." Jungkook applauds, and Taehyung takes a showy bow. "Yoongi will have to listen to that," says Jungkook. "You have so many slides." "But not too many, right? The TED talk said that too many slides is worse than too few. The key messages are lost." Jungkook frowns in thought, which is one of the many things Taehyung likes about him. He never takes anything lightly. "I think you have just the right amount," says Jungkook. "And the design is good. Nice composition." Taehyung closes the Powerpoint, entitled Why I May Already Be A Mastermind, and pulls out the zip with a flourish. "Great! Now all I have to do is get Yoongi to sit still for forty-five minutes. Jimin? Ideas?" Jimin looks up from where he's scrolling his phone, feet tucked under him on the couch. "Aren't you the mastermind?" "A good mastermind knows how to delegate," says Taehyung. "Can't you do some sort of Vulcan nerve pinch on him? Then we can tie him to a chair." He demonstrates the pinching movement in the air, and Jimin rolls his eyes. "I'm here to support you, as a supportive fucking person, but I'm not going to pinch Yoongi for anyone. You know the shit he has squirreled away on us?" "Only a coward fears the unknown," says Taehyung. "It's not unknown. It's extremely known," says Jimin. "You'll have to do your own martial arts."

I can’t remember if this is the first fic I read but it was very close, and I got instantly obsessed. It made me realize that RPF could not only be great but was better for me as non-canon.

As it’s orphaned I won’t say the author but I hope they’re doing well!
