I grew up in a secular liberal jewish, and know so many others. I never heard of anyone going further right than David Brooks w/out an accompanying religious fanaticism. From all accounts he was born w/some psychopathy. I vote a "Boys from Brazil" situation. I mean, ffs:

Anyone else find this both sad & chilling? I deactivated meta for the week as a small public objection, but I believe it might be a good mental health move for a minute.

So far, 2 out of 3 gigs have been in gorgeous cathedrals. Since I haven't burst into flame yet I'm assuming that 1: god is a fictional character with rabidly efficient PR. or 2: she's on my side.
