When we were kids, my little sister and I spent whole weekends watching old black and white movies. We loved them! When we got older, my sister told me  as a child, she believed that the people in the past lived in black and white. I was determined to write a Christmas story, but this prompt did not make it easy.

One Word Sunday: Match or Matching

Of course The Shenandoah River is not round, but this is one of the seven bends that meanders through the valley. It can be clearly seen from Cullers Overlook in the Shenandoah River State Park when all the leaves are off the trees. I love autumn and every week I get so many beautiful shots it is hard to decide which to use for my Best Of. Click here to see the ones that didn't make the cut: A Lingering Look at Autumn.

Have you ever been fishing? Yes, but I don't like to eat fish or touch the worm, so I am not much of a fisherwoman. What do you consider to be the bravest thing you’ve ever done? I'm rarely brave on purpose, so whatever it was it wasn't by choice, but by necessity. Would you rather: curl up with a good book in front of an open fire, or settle down with a tub of popcorn and watch a good movie with a friend.

#SundayStills: Peace

In the court yard of the hospital where I work there is this Nandina domestica. Nandina domestica, also known as Heavenly Bamboo or Sacred Bamboo, is not a true bamboo but belongs to the barberry family. It is an evergreen to semi-evergreen shrub that features lacy, compound leaves that can turn red in the fall and winter. It has clusters of red berries that last through the cold months. My work had a movie night at a local theater this week and I took three of my Gal Pals with me to enjoy a free movie, pizza, soft drinks, candy, etc. We had a good time. The whole theater was just for my company so there was face painting, pictures with Santa, and what I really loved (besides the free stuff) this lovely lady on stilts. Now, that's some Holiday Fun!

Bench Challenge

Robert sat nervously on the bench. He had agreed to meet Claudia in this lovely little alley, although he thought it strange to do so, but he liked this woman. They had face timed several times and messaged many more. His wife had been gone for three years and the thought of spending another Christmas alone had motivated him to do something.

I have chosen to share an image of traveling on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in Maryland that shows the space between the the two bridges themselves and the west side one I am traveling in. .
