The whole book is fantastic! I'm still amazed I got to be one of the contributors. This letter is one of the pieces I wrote:

"Found on a desk among Morrigan’s many notes and correspondences..."
A letter written on textured paper that reads: ‘Tis wild, isn’t it? How fast things can change… I still remember how drear and gloamy the Crossroads looked when I was a child, filled with heavy fog and heavier silence. Now, it feels like spring has come along and stirred the whole place out of the deep hibernation it was in. The fog has lifted and been replaced with splashes of color and brilliance I’ve never seen whilst awake—except in the finest Serault glass, when the light streams though it just so. Here, now, the whole sky could be cut from the finest wares that the Glassworks ever made. I swear! When the elves said they could see all the colors in the Crossroads, I always wished I could see as they did—but today, I think, perhaps, I caught a glimpse of their view. I should ask Strife and Irelin about it! Do things look different to them, too? Or am I just sensitive to the surges of strange, potent magic that have been happening more frequently of late…? ‘Tis marvelous to witness! The way water often spirals skyward here, sometimes taking fish to swim amongst the clouds, or how the earth can be shaped into stairs and bridges in a matter of seconds. It certainly seems to take much less time to traverse the world of late. Is that the work of the Caretaker spirits? I have so many questions for them, too, but they never seem to give me a straight answer. (Reminds me of someone else I know, actually...) By the way, I tracked down what you were looking for! I will bring it back to the Veil Jumpers’ camp as soon as I finish exploring these ruins. ‘Twould be a shame to rush and miss some crucial detail. See you soon, “K”

I really want to get better at environmental art, but gosh it is hard to break out of comfort zones. (Especially since I'm still recovering from burn-out.) I'm trying to take it one step at a time by making myself draw actual backgrounds for my character-centric arts. Baby steps!

Here's a piece I've been working on for a while! I was inspired by the Pokemon Legends spin-offs to do some art set in the "ancient" era, haha! These kids will both become Aura Guardians someday, but in this scene they're just having a picnic in a big tree near Ilex forest.
Two kids sit in a big tree as soft late-afternoon light filters down through the leaves. They have brought a picnic basket with them and are laughing as one of them eats a rice ball. Between them, there is a happy golden-furred Vulpix resting her paws on the younger child's leg. On the branch above the two siblings, a snoozing Rowlet and HootHoot huddle together as they roost.

Some Dragon Age Tarot character portraits I did of my own Wardens, Hawke, and Inquisitor. I'm looking forward to adding at least one Rook to the lineup soon!
Dirk’s card is Strength, but it has Two of Swords energy as well - and despite the negative reading Two of Swords often gets (stagnation, standstill) my own personal reading of the card is that it feels like the moment before something happens, when things hang in the balance. That’s the energy Dirk has, too. In this image, he holds two sharp daggers and looks ahead bravely toward the future, with a ghostly silhouette of a red-feathered Griffon rising from the moon-lit fog behind him. His own fringe of red hair and the rest of his leather-and-silverite clad figure are lit from behind by a deep red light, as though flames are burning somewhere nearby. Mahariel’s card is the Hermit. After finding the Eluvian with Tamlen his fate was sealed: his path would be a solitary one. I also associate him with Falon’Din a lot: Fahren bears his vallaslin in a bone-white color, and the bow he uses is Falon’Din’s Reach. He walks the line between life and death, serving as a protector and guide to others. In this card, he wears a deep grey cloak over his green Dalish leathers, and is lit by a pale green Wisp that hovers over his shoulder that also reflects in his pale green eyes. Lyanna's card is the Queen of Swords, but also has some Seven of Pentacles energy. She keeps her distance from others and has a bit of a wild temperament - her peers called her the Rose of Highever ("be wary of her thorns.") She’s also a long-term planner who is always thinking about what choices will work best for everyone in the future. I also included little hints about who each of my wardens romanced: Dirk wears Zevran’s earring, Morrigan herself is perched on Mahariel’s shoulder, and Lyanna’s holding the rose Alistair gave her — still remarkably perfect even long after it was picked off the bush in Lothering. Hawke is a mage who prefers to use lightning, ice, and force magic. Ash Lavellan is a rogue who primarily uses daggers, but is also very good with a bow. (He never actually fights with a sword — the blade he’s holding in his card is the ceremonial one he was given when he became Inquisitor.) Their tarot cards are the Ace of Wands and Page of Swords, respectively. The Ace of Wands represents inspiration, passion, energy, boldness, and opportunity. It’s about having a vision, taking the right steps to realize it, and trusting your instincts to guide you in the right direction. Since the card does depict a character, it has some Page of Wands energy as well — which is about adventure, excitement, and fearlessness. All of this fits my Hawke perfectly! They stand in the middle of the fray, surounded by clouds and lightning that glances off their gleaming armor, wearing a big grin on their face. The Page of Swords usually represents a messenger being sent between two opposing groups of people, a person tasked with peace negotiations — which is exactly why Ash was sent to the Conclave in the first place, and the same role he keeps being thrust into as Inquisitor. It represents curiosity, wit, inspiration, communication, and vigilance. In his card, Ash wanders through a dark moon-lit forest with both uncertainty and determination on his face. Ash also has a snake spiraling around him in the infinity pattern, which is a reference to both the Magician and Strength — to an outsider, the snake might seem dangerously close to the Inquisitor… but Ash considers Dorian one of his most trusted confidantes and their relationship is a positive one. Hawke’s card has a much more subtle nod to their primary romantic partner, Fenris — Hawke wears a red armband on their wrist, too.

Since I should get some of my art on here, here's some of my favorite pieces from the past few years! Featuring Kingdom Hearts, Elder Scrolls, and Dragon Age stuff:
Riku and Xion lay on a small island of forget-me-nots surrounded by water that reflects the starry sky. There is a meteor shower happening, and they are watching it, but a concerned-looking Riku is trying to glance at Xion. Xion is smiling, but there are tears running down her face. Her legs and feet are slightly transparent and have star-flecks in them, too. She's only half-real, in this little dream-world. Eira and Niranye walk down a snowy path in Windhelm. Eira is a short bosmer rogue with deep brown skin, sapphire eyes, and silver hair, while Niranye is a tall Altmer merchant with tawny skin, dirty blonde hair, and bright golden eyes. Eira is dressed in a deep blue cloak while Niranye wears pink and brown clothes trimmed with fur. Their breath puffs out in front of them as snow falls all around them, and their cheeks are slightly flushed from the crisp air. They walk toward a bright warm glow as they talk about a deal they are making. The Marquis of Serault stands in front of a mirror, dappled in rainbow light from the stained glass windows nearby. He holds his antlered mask made from multicolored glass in his hand, as though he just took it off. His bare face is painted with colorful makeup that draws attention to his pale jade-green eyes. The stain on his lips is slightly smudged. He looks over his shoulder instead of into the golden mirror... which does not actually reflect HIM. The face that stares out at the Scholar shares his pale gold hair and bright-green eyes, but has longer hair and twisted antlers growing from her forehead, and she has one hand pressed against the glass as if trying to reach out and get the Marquis' attention. (It is the Huntress, trying to call out to her brother.) Two Dalish elves embrace as they go in for a kiss - their lips are almost, but not quite touching. The ruddy-haired elf on the left has a soft smile on his face, while the raven-haired elf on the right looks like he's saying something teasing. The ruddy-haired elf is bathed in golden light and has warm-toned skin and wears a sleeveless green tunic. He has elaborate tattoos on his arm, while his face is decorated with Ghilan'nain's vallaslin. The raven-haired elf has deeper, cool-toned skin and is cast in shadow, and wears loose, dark-toned clothing. His face bears Dirthamen's vallaslin. The ruddy-haired elf has one hand tangled up in the other's long dark hair and rests the other on his waist, while the dark-haired elf has his hand pressed against the other's chest.
