Is there a Texas Child Support Cap? Yes, there is a maximum amount of child support in Texas. According to Texas divorce laws, the maximum child support for $1,840 per month for one child, $2,300 per month for two children, $2760 for three children, $3,220 for four children, and $3,680 for five children or more. State law sets a maximum limit on the monthly income used to calculate child support, which is $9,200 per month. The child support percentage in Texas would not apply to income over that amount, save and except for very limited circumstances.
