Into good books, good music, finding moments of joy, and making the world a better place.
Because we also need some moments of joy.. here's a picture of my daughter's slightly spoiled dog. She just got tucked in, given a good night kiss, and told to go to sleep. 😆

Thinking of my dad this Veterans Day. Honoring those who have served and are serving and wishing for the day wars end.

We had over 500 people at the No Kings Rally in Spindale NC. There are larger protests around us but I think it's so important for our small town neighbors to see us out there on our own streets. We left behind some positivity too. Pics of the turnout in the replies.

To finish out the week of #ireadbannedbooks - This book should be required reading for every high school student. Understanding the first person accounts of those who have experienced atrocities is critical. Elie's story of survival is heart wrenching 💔.

Alright, here's your Saturday edition of #ireadbannedbooks another one that also had a great movie adaptation.

Super cool evening spent watching Ben Folds and the Asheville Symphony Orchestra. Amazing talents, fun crowd interaction, and some compelling words to make art, use your voice, and cultivate your creativity.

In Friday's edition of #ireadbannedbooks - I present The Outsiders... this was on an optional reading list back when I was in high school and my youngest chose it for summer reading in her middle school years. If you don't know the author's own story, it's fascinating too.

Another great book. This was assigned as a middle school summer reading option for my girls. Glad there were and are still teachers who want students to read thought provoking materials.

My inner bibliophile is doing the happy dance. Got this gorgeous bunch of items from the @terrypratchett.bsky.social kickstarter project. The graphic novel is beautiful and @colleendoran.bsky.social has outdone herself!

Spent the evening at a community Remembrance Walk in memorial of those who have lost their lives to suicide or drug overdose. This was my 9th year of participating after my died died by suicide in 2017.
