I grew up in my family’s photography business and recognized many of the same creative and business struggles. The film captures how art, identity, and personal growth often become deeply intertwined. The family tragedy touched us deeply. My mom is an SA survivor who has counseled many young women in abusive relationships, so watching the family grieve—and then use their story to help others—was especially moving. Chelli’s evolution and the closing of her studio hit close to home for me, having started and closed businesses myself. That moment still choked me up on my third viewing. The beautiful cinematography, paired with Chelli’s wonder at each day’s beginning and end, made this a powerful experience to share together.“
