Currently reading DesCartes Error - published 1991. It's making me realize that this word, and people of his time, is why we understand ADHD and executive functioning so well now. People on tiktok have these conversations like they drink water, but it was once intensive neuropsychological research.

Defining codependency has been challenging, but if you just mirror Lundy Bancroft's cognative distortions of an abuser you can find the cognitive distortions of a person enabling an abuser.

This book has been on my shelf for a while. Seems like a good day to read it. On Tyranny by Timothy Snider. This is written in a very simplistic way. It contains rules on how to not support Tyranny. Definitely worth reading. #tyranny

The High Five Habit. Pop psychology is a favorite genre of mine. I know, it's often bunk. Still, this book is simple and uplifting. I think the message is good, but I could give it away if I say it. The point is made in the first chapter. It was an easy and fun read. Mel is also a fellow dyslexic!

Jay Ingram Theatre of the Mind: This book was foundational to my understanding consciousness. I read it before my Philosophy of Mind classes, and it's a great introduction to the basics of common psych knowledge about consciousness. I still think about it 20 years later.

Free Play Improvisation in Life and Art.
This is one of my favorite books of all time. Free Play is an argument for play, and provides reasoned arguments to tear down the stoicism and disregard for emotions found in our culture. It uses metaphors and storytelling to show the reader his ideas.

Kim JiYoung Born 1982 written by Cho Nam-Joo is a great look at a typical woman in Korea born in 1982. As a Canadian born in the same era, the female experience of misogyny resonates heavily. The book is annotated with statistics about the science of women's experiences. Kim JiYoung means...

Because Internet by Gretchen McCulloch is about how linguistics is being reshaped by internet culture. The main argument is that English writing developed a new form of writing rules because of the internet. This book is great for old-internet users of the 90's for nostalgia and understanding!
