Merciful/ALS are actively good in many matchups, even in Rapture config. After that, spending 5 slots (Vestige, Library, Genesis) to turn (even if unpopular) defensive popper heavy matchups from impossible/hard to actively favored is a no-brainer, even if you don't use the cards often.

BB2 and T2 are great statlines, don't get me wrong. But there absolutely is counterplay.

2 blues: pitch potentially contributes 6 value, the boots 6. Obviously absurd.

However, this is exploitable if you can stop attacking after the 2nd pitch w/o losing too much.

If you can do so, total value generated from 2 blues and the legs was 8: equal to a BB2 and probably killed their turn!

Just to run the value math here (assuming no overblocking or ridiculous implied value):

1 blue: pitch contributes 3 value, the boots 3. This is equal to a temper 2.

This requires a blue you don't mind pitching & needs to line up, ideally on 2s and 5s.

the card isn't actually that good vs 1s and 4s, there's a lot of counterplay, and opposing decks often cannot activate >3x in a turn without killing their tempo

card is undeniably good, and the statement in the quote tweet is probably correct, but i wouldn't count anyone out just yet
