A new piece from a new series: "Shake Me Out of the Dark of the World 4," 20 x 16 x 1.5 inches, oil on recycled canvas.

In these dark times, the more brightness/color I can express, the better. I'm loving this series because it keeps me moving forward with some hope, however slim it may appear. 🎨
Shake Me Out of the Dark of the World 4, an abstract, color-field painting by Dawn Boyer. It has a large yellow shape in the middle, surrounded by curving bands of light green, dark green, blue, and magenta, with a background of ultramarine blue scumbled with purple on the left side, and dark and light green on the right side. Little pink, yellow, and magenta dots sit in a diagonal line under the yellow shape on the left side, and slightly larger shapes of light pink, magenta, and yellow sit above them on the left.

"Shake Me Out of the Dark of the World III," 16 x 16 x .75 inches, oil and cold wax on cradled panel board. I wish the photo could capture all the color gradations in the orange/yellow section. In this dark time, I can't get enough yellow, especially golden yellow.
