I met him at the State Caucus once. Most politicians I’ve met are kinda smarmy. He was a genuinely nice guy. I liked him.

I treat human patients, but mostly it’s so we don’t surprise a patient. Like if they’re standing behind the door. Or that one time my patient was peeing in the garbage can in the exam room (yes I see human patients and it was a female patient).

Forever grateful to a PA school that required its students to volunteer at free healthcare clinics during our first year. Most of us volunteered more than was required. Our school also required a rotation at a rural or underserved clinic during the second year.

Every individual in this country has the right to emergency medical care. EMTALA requires it. I find it morally repugnant that the argument against extending ACA subsidies is that an immigrant might get coverage. I would rather help too many people than help too few.

The next step was to defend my position to the interview committee. My position was that emergency medical care should always be a right in this country regardless of race, gender, or ability to pay. I was questioned repeatedly about the cost, and was I willing to give up part of my salary in taxes

I lived in Germany as a kid. I kinda feel like advent calendars should very traditional, full of cheap nasty chocolates that you fight over with your siblings because you have to take turns opening each day.

This genius plan shows how out of touch Hegseth is with the reality of career military families. Try living overseas. I grew up in a military family moving every couple of years (my dad was active duty for 22 years). We depended on the commissary and BX when he was stationed in Europe for 3 years.

Had a very similar conversation with my 22 year old tonight. Who also said they have pronouns because my husband cooks dinner and I have a job outside the home.

That works, or just leave it blank. We have to review all of it not just the sheet we sign. I understand the concern, I work in urology, I work with sensitive patient populations and very sensitive topics so I really understand wanting to protect privacy but also need to know history for good care

No. It’s a routine question to evaluate for RED-S. But in this era, just discuss it with the provider doing the physical and leave it blank on the form.

It’s very appropriate question to ask a female athlete. I used to do a ton of these physicals. We’re looking for RED-S. But I wouldn’t care if a pt didn’t want to write it down on the form and just told me. I understand why they may not want it on a form, but it’s something that should be discussed.

No conspiracy. It’s there to force the provider doing the physical to consider RED-S (formerly female athlete triad). If you don’t want to list it, just tell the provider why and verbally let the provider know date of LMP. These physicals are often done by providers not familiar with the patient.

Only people that don’t specialize in urology make that joke. That incorrect mentality is why I often have to convince patients to do their prostate cancer screening.

Need someone that keeps a lot of medical supplies at home to put it back together? (I was doing a lecture/discussion for the providers at Planned Parenthood and missed the festivities downtown)
