Good to know! I want to do this trip with my kiddos. I'm in SF this week but doing the city stuff with my daughter. I will need to come back for Angel Island.

I use AllTrails. I have not done my research on the differences between Caltopo and AllTrails

Was this trip in the winter? Why ear plugs? My favorite winter spot is Yosemite Valley. It's the only time to go since there are no crowds.

Ohhhh yea, my pack was way too heavy. I have not done the Rae Lake Loop yet. On my list!

Island is my third favorite lake on the JMT. My 2nd is Iceberg under the Mineretts above Edisa.

Of course! Devils postpile to Toulome Meadows. It was during the fires. The park closed the day we got to TM.

Can you believe it was a 50-mile section of the JMT? A friend had an extra permit. 4 days, yes, FOUR days, later, I was on the trail. I had no idea what I was getting into.
