transparency overlap
This is a render of Winter, an avatar base I've been working on for a while. The framing is medium close-up, cropped at the bottom of her eyes. She's wearing a dark gray jacket, which has been made semitransparent along with her skin, allowing you to see her internal components. The materials have transparency overlap turned on in blender - this causes some visual bugs that make her internal parts render in the wrong order. I thought it looked cool. The lighting and background is mostly light gray, with very subtle blue and pink lights.

i think its soo important to get the sky right if you want a place in vr to feel real. Stars especially just feel off most of the time, usually because they're way too bright or uniformly spaced out.

for most of my worlds I like to use star maps from NASA: svs.gsfc.nasa.gov/4851/
