I just read the new Yona of the Dawn chapter. All I wanted to do was relax after a long week.

Hey, noticed your library isn’t doing summer reading this year? Libby glitchy? Fewer programs? That’s not random. IMLS funding is getting gutted. Libraries are more than books—they’re community. You know what won’t help? You doing nothing. It’s in the Senate. Show up.

If you read dystopian books, then you already know—reading is political. What’s happening in LA is terrifying and real, and it should be a wake-up call. This is not okay. Know your rights, take care of one another, and don’t look away

The new Yona of the Dawn cover just dropped and I gasped like it was the series finale. The drama, the colors, the aura. Mizuho Kusanagi is FEEDING us, as always. She doesn’t miss. Ever. 🐉✨ #yonaofthedawn

Find a low-key manga site, blast it all over social like it’s a sale, and then act shocked when it gets nuked. Nothing says ‘I love this place’ like inviting the whole internet. Great job, everyone.

I didn't walk into the bookstore, I descended like a stressed out gremlin in search of paperbound salvation. It was worth it! #books #readersoftiktok #bookworm #manga

How am I just now finding out about this??? In the Clear Moonlit Dusk is getting an anime?? My babies are finally getting animated?! I am freaking out! I will feel every feel. I’m gonna be weeping, screaming, and emotionally wrecked in full 4k. JANUARY 2026, could not get here sooner! #manga

They fired Carla Hayden—the first Black woman Librarian of Congress—with a two-sentence email.
She had one year left on her contract. No warning. No respect. Just gone.

Florida just passed HB 1205 — a law that makes it nearly impossible for regular people to propose constitutional amendments.
$1M bond. No out-of-state help. $50K fines.
It’s not about stopping fraud.
It’s about stopping you.
Democracy for sale. No refunds.
Remember, bad policies love to travel.

HB 1539 flopped in the Senate, Florida was like:
“Cool cool cool, we’ll just make a book ban office instead.”
Now we’ve got the Office of Parental Rights, basically a censorship startup, but make it state-funded.
Parents already had rights. This is just a vibe shift from legislation to intimidation.

Does it say something about my mental health that the first line in this book, “That b-, took my soap?”, has me fully committed to this book like it’s therapy?

Aoashi S2 is finally coming and I’m not okay. I’ve waited so long I thought I hallucinated the entire first season. Ashito I MISSED YOU. We’re so back it’s unreal. #anime

Independent Bookstore Day was yesterday. I blacked out and woke up today surrounded by tote bags, bookmarks, and financial ruin. 10 out of 10 would do it again. #supportyourlocalbookstores #books #independentbookstoreday

I have survived the longest week in human history and emerged a hollow shell.
Luckily, Independent Bookstore Day has arrived to save me.
Today I will enter a local bookstore, inhale the sacred smell of paper and ink, and be guided by book wizards who somehow just know what my soul needs.

It was never just about schools, it was never just about libraries, and it isn't actually about the books.

It's about finding a way to banish entire people, entire ideas, out of society, back into the closet or worse.

Texas bill could punish bookstores for 'obscene' books
A new bill in the Texas Legislature, authored by Rep. Nate Schatzline, would allow businesses to be held liable if a minor reports damages from "obscene" books.

Amazon’s having a “book sale” this weekend.
How adorable.

Meanwhile, indie bookstores are having soul, community, and good taste.
Choose wisely.

NetGalley just approved my ARC request and honestly? Hero behavior. Right on time too, HB 1539 passed in the Florida house-aka “The Book Ban But Make It Feelings-Based Legislation Act.” Im gripping this e-galley like it’s contraband. Catch me reading in defiance while democracy wheezes. #netgalley

The Florida Senate just passed HB 1539.
Because nothing says “safe schools” like banning books while pretending pew-pews are just misunderstood accessories.

1/3 Florida’s HB 1539 expands what’s considered “harmful to minors”—but in practice, it lets anyone challenge books in schools and get them pulled fast. No real review. Just one complaint = censorship. #StopHB1539 #LetKidsRead

When you're a mood reader and the library book you checked out
6 weeks ago is still sitting untouched on your nightstand...
Out of renewals. Overdue.
At this point, I'm just waiting for them to send a librarian with a taser and a tote bag.

I care less about Signal chats and more about the blacksite offshore concentration camps we're sending random people to without any semblance of a trial, so I'll be interested to see if the national media can rub their bellies and pat their heads at the same time this week. Historically they can't.

I saw Sinners, and all I can say is—if you haven’t, go see it. You know what? I’ll go with you. I have no problem seeing it again!
