I think you're talking about two different things. The new overtake mode that's the DRS replacement is a power boost from extra battery storage and is indeed enabled based on a single detection point. The active aero on the front and rear wings are always enabled, from my understanding.

We're at a point where I find myself hoping they win another title in the next year or two for his sake as much as anyone else. He thoroughly deserves that feather in his cap and it would be very cool to see him do it with this particular team.

Can't say for sure, but people who make it as far as he has through pure lunatic cussedness do not generally learn the healthiest lessons along the way.

I have had the same barber for 20+ years since literal childhood and the only answer I have to "How do you want your hair cut?" is "Shorter than it is right now, please." When he finally hangs it up I have no idea what I'll do.

They've also been more public recently with the fact that Max consistently races with newer and better/more upgraded parts than his teammates, who often have older spec components or hand-me-downs on a nominally identical car.

College football is also just better in general when you have a bunch of lifer coaches who completely merge their identity with a program. It's more narratively fun and also just more satisfying in every direction.

Pretty sure Kirby coached all the way through the championship in 2015 but I think his relationship with Saban is fundamentally different than any of the other former assistants.
