Matts had some and said it was fine. I’ve let it cool and thrown some soy sauce at it because that fixes everything.

Hmmmm. I don’t know what it is, but something doesn’t taste good. I’ve added some Worcester sauce and a touch of sugar & seasoning. Going to turn the heat off now and let it sit and come back to it in a while once it’s cooled. #DinnerWithDawbes

That’s sat on onions carrots celery garlic and rosemary with a couple of dried mushrooms added to give some depth to the juices as I’m hoping to make gravy from the liquid.

Actually, I followed the instructions to a t - but I fucked around with the ratios of things to use up what I had open and that’s the beauty of home made granola. I was quite liberal with the ground cinnamon and ginger too.

So good. So not low fat tho. But healthy.

Added some additional flavour. And a load of red lentils. Will bring back to the boil and let it simmer for 10 minutes or so to cook the lentils through.

Not used these before, so wanting half the bag in and around a litre of boiling water. Will bring to the boil then add lentils and more water.

I’ve added a splash of water to let it mix properly. Then some bay leaves and black pepper.

Next up is some tomato paste. A dollop.
Mix that up as best you can and let it cook out. If some greedy fuck hadn’t drunk all the cooking wine I’d add some of that too so instead have gone with red wine vinegar. Just a splash.

While the onion sweats down, slice your carrots and celery and garlic. As much or as little as you want. It’s your soup.

Add that to the pan and let it cook for a few more minutes to soften the veggies.

While the chorizo is becoming magic, slice your white onion. I’m not blending this soup so I chopped small. Add to the chorizo oil and fry for a few minutes to soften and allow them to change colour in the oil.

Skin and chop the chorizo and add to a med high heat to sweat those delicious oils out. That’s going to flavour the rest of the soup.
