Thank you for your reply. I am grateful that my interpretation of Christian faith does not require a hell bound destination for differing views on assisted dying. Kate will not go to Hell for her views and nor will those who support assisted dieing.

Would it be fair to say Duncan that you are not opposed to the Assisted Dying Bill because your secular/ humanist world view leads you as an individual to be supportive or neutral about it? Are not all of us guided by our world views, not only people of faith like Kate Forbes?

"Thanks for your considered reply". I won't return to X cos of the kind of comments you have shared here which are much more common there. I am not totally wedded to joining EU by the way. In an indy Scotland I would want a Ref with options for joining, staying out or joining EFTA instead.

To refer to an independent Scot. as an "economic basket case" is insulting and inaccurate imo as Scotland will likely be one of the least poor countries to have gained it's independence since the war. Or further back compare with Eire in 1922?

Did you see the recent documentary about Mhairi Black? For me, she describes her authentic experience. Accusations of fakery are wide of the mark in John and Mhairi's cases imo. Why would John Swinney be "politically faking it"? Is being FM easy?

As an SNP member I utterly disagree with Robin McAlpine's remarks about "saving political careers". Criticism of FM's proposals is of course a democratic right but I strongly refute implications that proposals made in bad faith.

I am reasonably happy with John Swinney's approach. Yes it's arguably boring but being adult involves embracing boredom sometimes.My one caveat is that I think John really should go out of his way to engage with wider, non-SNP pro-indy networks & parties.
