We had a whole drawer full of bread bags in the kitchen. Boot liner was only one of their many uses.
When I was a kid, I put my feet in bread bags before I put on my hand-me-down, not waterproof, boots.
Also there was this one nice top my older cousin had, so for the next 7 years my cousins, my sister and I all wore the same top for "picture day."
We didn't even know we were poor.

Who knew there's a clothing-optional hiking trail in Tucson. Don't let that deter you. Upper Tanque Verde Falls is a beautiful hike. It's dry now, so I have to go back when the water is flowing.
