I wouldn't argue but I think you could probably extend that to a general lack of appreciation of/interest in any genuine expertise in the political world, be it trade, energy etc.

Wealth tax advocates talk about everything except actual historic wealth taxes. They raised a pittance, hit the middle class more than the wealthy, & were abolished.

I thought this was interesting from Hannah Ritchie. Perhaps market reform (which I know UK gov is considering) is required alongside transition. Higher renewable generation may not, by itself, guarantee lower prices for industry or consumer. 🤔🤔

My fave - burying cables. The length of buried cables is greatly limited at AC transmission voltages due to a phenomemon called charging current. Tens of km rather than 100km+. In addition to the expense, physics prevents it. Clearly they don't have a clue and haven't spoken to anybody who does.
