The recent wave of political violence, including the tragic assassination of a Minnesota legislator and the threats made against President Trump, is heartbreaking and unacceptable. America has stood strong for nearly 250 years not because we always agree, but because we've upheld the principle that we don't have to. Our Constitution was built on the idea that free people can disagree, debate, and even challenge one another fiercely, without resorting to violence. When elected leaders and their families are targeted simply because of their public service, it tears at the very fabric of our democracy. This is not who we are. We are better than this. "Democratic Caucus Issues Statement on Attack of Minnesota Lawmakers BOISE (June 14, 2025) – The Idaho Democratic Caucus strongly condemns the acts of political violence that occurred today in Minnesota targeting Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband Mark, as well as Senator John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. We join the rest of the nation in expressing our deepest sympathy for the victims and their families. Our society relies on a foundation of mutual respect, even amidst differing viewpoints. There is absolutely no justification for such violent acts. Every individual should feel secure in expressing their values without the fear of retaliation, intimidation, or the threat of violence. Acts of violence like this are a threat to everyone and a threat to a civil and just society. We are resolute in our commitment to building a more just and civil society where everyone is respected. "In unified solidarity and strength, today, the Idaho House and Senate Leadership unequivocally condemn the tragic and senseless execution of one Minnesota lawmaker, her husband while injuring another lawmaker and his wife. Together, we stand firm against all forms of violence, particularly acts that undermine our democratic process and those elected by their communities to represent them. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families, colleagues, and communities affected by this devastating loss. Public servants are elected to bring forward the ideas and interests of their district, to the Legislature, where our founding fathers intended a robust debate of these ideas. The legislative process is intended to be difficult, but it is intentional. It is through this very process that we collectively make the best decisions to serve the people of the great state of Idaho."

One of our trees is coming out today. It's an old silver maple that isn't doing too well, and it's lost a few limbs in storms over the last couple months. It wasn't safe, and it's time for it to go, but I'm still a bit sad. I'll miss seeing it out my window.

I was going through a box of my stuff from high school and found a ball signed by Torii Hunter. I have absolutely no idea when or where I acquired this. I never saw the Twins play. Did he spend any time with the Hawks....?

From The Bulwark: "First, some ground rules. The securities markets have a system of circuit breakers to halt massive declines. There are three circuit breakers that are measured by calculating a percentage decline in the S&P 500 from the close of the previous day: Level 1 (7 percent), Level 2 (13 percent), and Level 3 (20 percent). If Levels 1 or 2 are tripped before 3:25 p.m., all trading is halted for 15 minutes. If Level 3 is tripped at any point in the day, trading is halted for the remainder of the day." Here are the S&P’s circuit breaker numbers for Monday: Level 1: $5,617 Level 2: $5,255 Level 3: $4,832

Perhaps the most important thing that happened yesterday that didn't make it into the show was @radiodawson.bsky.social dropping his truck keys into the IdahoPTV elevator shaft through the small gap that forms when elevator door opens. It took a group effort to fish them out.
