Instead, they are having a difficult time with the far-right evangelicals who want books banned and a demographic of radicalized young male students full of conspiracy and misogyny.

This is why any talk of religious institution "morality" is confounding. It is not a source of morality and has never been.

What does "cancelled" mean? They didn't like the arguments and stopped talking? Or were those who were "cancelled" still allowed to talk? Were they jailed? Who was "cancelled"? Their books/texts/videos banned? Banned by whom? Piety seems solidly on the far-right and the Evangelicals.

Pierre Poilievre is normalizing the attack on Canadian democracy. His behaviour with the press is the same as saying "the press is the enemy of the people". In fact, the press are a crucial part of a healthy democracy.

You are absolutely right! The far-right (read: fascists) will pick off marginalized groups, one by one. That's how they operate. They are at war with pluralism and democracy. Fascism is rule by the few for the few (no one is safe).

Why do we have Remembrance Day in Canada? Answer: To never forget the horrors of fascism. And what about our public education system in all of this? Have we considered the effectiveness of critical thinking and the lessons of history?
