I feel like they are technically small cakes. But when it is convenient I like to say both of my kids are named after cookies.

And Yom Kippur-

You have to spend the day hungry, feeling bad about the bad things you did over the past year, and you have to hope you think about them hard enough to get another year in the book of life.

But at least no one is pinching you.

Reasons St. Patrick's Day is the worst (as celebrated in the USA)
- Still not good food
- People constantly threaten to pinch you
- All the stereotypes of Irish people and leprechauns feels icky

Reasons Valentines Day is the worst-
-No good food. Yeah there's chocolate, but you don't get to pick it out yourself and it's mostly crappy.
-Too heteronormative with no space for aroace people
-Forced to deal with candy hearts that are both stupid and have gelatin

Also, Lynn and I lived in a basement apartment and the windows got snowed over so there was very little natural light even during the day. Definitely added to the weirdness.

I remember that very well. We were all dying for donuts as soon as we were allowed to leave the house again.
