3/4 Demographic data about individuals enable countries to monitor access and identify service gaps, but there are gaps in terms of the needs of particular groups. For instance, there are limited international data on the number of prisoners requesting and receiving an assisted death.

2/4 Nearly all jurisdictions studied in this research publish formal reports, usually annually, which include data summarising assisted dying activity. They adopt a variety of approaches though, with differences in the scope and scale of data collected and published.
