I don't want to argue with your guide, but if you look up images of Malayan Pit Viper (Calloselasma rhodostoma) and Shore or Mangrove Pit Viper (Trimeresurus purpureomaculatus -- esp younger ones) the differences in patterns are very noticeable, and I think your pic more closely resembles Shore 🤷‍♂️

Which viper is it, do you know? My guess was the Shore Pit Viper.

It is hard to beat Mandarins for ostentatiousness but I do love a good view of a Wood Duck showing off, and the little Ruddies are cute because they are just so small and adorable

I only took these with my phone, not my camera which sadly I didn't have with me at the time. I really like the way once the water dropped a little bit, the little splashes have continue to add up to make these really awesome patterns of ice on the rocks
