I'm losing my mind lol. This guy is mr conservative wonk. He was Mitt Romney's economic policy guru for years. He's the *chief economist* of a leading think tank. He's Ezra Klein's favorite republican. He was just on the Daily Show explaining tariffs to Jon Stewart!!

This doesn't seem to me to be a newsroom position – not least of which because it pays between $170,000 and $320,000 to produce no journalism. Instead it looks like it advises Jeff Bezos on how to profit from the U.S. defense sector:

My neighbor owns a cafe where she brings Pepsi, a rescue from Donetsk. She mewl-growls at anyone who comes near, and flees from men in fatigues. She lets her favorite people pet her but keeps up a scared growl even then.

This is the most amazing thing I've come across in a while., humanity at its best. They're still hugely important in parts of the country, they have weddings and celebrations in them too and preserve ancient documents and books
