The October 18 nationwide protest, as buried in the print edition of the Sunday New York Times @nytimes.com: No headline. Two small photos. Below the fold.

We were in the Berkshires for the weekend, so we made our voices heard in Stockbridge. As the local representative pointed out, this is the “Commonwealth of Massachusetts” and the rebellion against “Kings” started just east of here 250 years ago.

This may be the only post we need to see this month.

"I'm Yertle the Turtle! Oh, marvelous me!
For I am the ruler of all that I see!"
- Dr. Seuss, born on this day in 1904.

For those who aren’t aware, Seuss has stated that the titular character Yertle represented Adolf Hitler.

It’s the anniversary of the birth of Abraham Lincoln.

Here’s the (amazing) historian Heather Cox Richardson explaining his legacy, and what being a “liberal” truly means.

Happy Birthday, Mr. Lincoln !
