I think there’s a demographic change thing going on in this area of Cheshire. See Altrincham also where a Tory voting place seems to be going increasingly green.

They should start selling t shirts with ‘Don’t mug me, I’m Android only’ on them

The warm homes plan stuff is a great example of this. Pivoting away from measures to reduce bills for fuel poor homes and towards subsidising heat pumps middle class ppl who wld prob get one anyway

I don’t think they mean the GPUs will be useful. More that its another new thing to pitch to private equity firms.

Hearing a lot atm about how tech will shift from AI to quantum computing to pull in those AI billions. Would be interested in your view on that.

It's been in London since 1963

Quicker to get to central London from Bromley than it was when I lived in Streatham. Train goes direct to Victoria with no stops.

I reckon many of those 4/5 bed houses are not even 1m. Our 4 bed in Bromley (which we could build another 2 rooms on if we wanted) is more like 800. Although I’ll grant that’s not cheap either

Five bedrooms plus an office seems excessive tbh. Even in the 80s me and all my friends had 3.

If they were serious about building houses there’s nothing to stop the state commissioning contractors to do it for them. Might even make a profit.

Could you imagine anything worse than ´rightmove gpt’.
“Sure here are 15 houses in your neighbourhood” - produces a list of 5 you want, 5 somewhere else and 5 that don’t exist…

Not really, in the 30s when that kind of thing caught on it was largely passchendaele that was invoked.

I find the elevation of the Somme quite odd, because for most of the Great War generation they would have said Passchendaele. The attack at Loos in 1915 was probably more horrific than the Somme as well and was the first use of the Kitchener armies.

This was all clear from at least the Letwin Review in 2018, but everyone still listens to the developers lines that by just getting rid of some building or planning reg (Part O and air con being a recent one) it will all magically change.
