I understand your anger. I do wonder, however, if Schumer's argument that if the govn were shut down that it would have further enabled Musk/Trump. This argument seemed to come out of nowhere, and I have not seen anyone check the veracity of the claim. Was it a real threat or not?

(And of course WE TOLD THEM, but again: They can't be told. They have to have it happen to them. Even then there's a fair chance they'll just dig in deeper. It's hard to admit you've been conned. Even harder to admit that you were told and on some level knew you were being conned, and went along.)
