For three letters it is a big word. But so is God... For me as an artist, it is a verb, a process of creating. Whatever comes out of it is up to others to call it what they wish.

The issue with the Woodworm was it sat on the concrete floor and was dry rotting as were the posts. Basically a concrete bunker... My dad took the B&W pic's when they opened up 7 of the houses for a variety of museum folks in 1968. He took some great photos.

Love those old photos. My carving buddy Cliff Thomas was Ganaxtedi and said the large face is still somewhere in Klukwan. Love to see that show up. It isn't a mask, it is solid. Here are some other shots you have probably seen.

This looks like my photo enlarged. Sadly the woodworm dish was in bad shape and not brought to the new location when the posts and screen were removed. They should have brought the fragments over... Love these works and the family that has been the "caretakers". Son Shion communicating!

That is an amazing pic! Those posts were stored in the Whale House for a while. I was asked to photograph the Whale House in 81 when Victor Hotch passed. Berry took those pics without permission and signed his name to them... Bad Karma...

My brother in Haines, AK is always cutting down nice size birch and gives it to the local carvers. It's heavy when wet so would be quite a mailing cost! When I taught wood carving at the Academy of Art in SF we went to a tree cutting yard in Oakland and had quite a variety of wood for carvers...?

Nice ship builders adze. Good toe chopper! My Japanese chona is magic. Works like the elbow adze except grown to the curve. So cool you got to spend time with Bill Holm!
