He was a product of his time. (Archie, not Carrol) He played him in a way that showed that growth, painful as it was, was possible. Anymore and Archie would have been unlikeable and any less then they would miss the point. He was right for the times to teach a lesson. Just fell on deaf ears.

Gotta give Carrol O'Connor his props. Sure, some people took him as a role model. These people were like this before and not smart enough to realize it was parody. But O'Connor played him just right. Obnoxious and prejudice but not hateful and unlikeable.

So I did electoral college on a few states
California 1 electoral vote represents 730,185 people
Montana 1 electoral votes represents 350,000
That's nearly twice as much representation. Pick a couple of states and compare.
New York 1 = 709,642
Idaho 1 = 500,000
It goes on and on.

I did the math a long time ago and states like Montana or Idaho get much more representation per capita than California or New York. If the numbers were equal across the board Republicans would never win another national election. It's sick. The Electoral College needs to be abolished.

And you think dashing to the middle is going to help? Dream on. If we don't hold to our beliefs we've lost anyway, a step at a time. Rather like the boiled frog syndrome. Those in the middle that didn't vote will come back when everything goes to shit. Sadly, it's the only way people learn.

What purity test. If he wasn't called out then he'll keep doing it. It's a nice thought but he's never going to be won over. He's part of the problem. Or doesn't care as long as he gets the upper hand diminishing women. "Keeping them in their place." These men cannot be left unchecked.
