The Financial Accountability Office shows Ottawa received $31.91 per resident in provincial funding in 2024-25, while Toronto receives 196.49 per resident – and the gap will increase to $175.90 for the Toronto area in 2028-29, while Ottawa will receive $31.60. Seems slightly unfair to me…

I agree; however, having lived in southwestern and eastern Ontario, the GTA alone getting massively subsidized transit investment is raw deal for the other ~8 million residents.

Smaller scale would be complete double tracking and station expansions for line two or we could get crazy and consider paying for trains on line one that perform as designed.
