Indeed so. There are a few others (Patrick Hastings) but Dan's is portable, succinct, and gives the best advice - "if you don't understand, move on" (I'm paraphrasing). I did have the advantage also that if I posted something on Twitter he'd respond. and help. A good man, Dan.

I had a wonderful time in Ulysses's centenary year reading it for the first time with some nice folk on Twitter (there were nice folk on Twitter then) and @danmulhall.bsky.social 's excellent book, to which I return often.
