@norrette.bsky.social He is after Greenland again and threatens anybody who disagrees with him with a higher tarriff percentage. EU need to start looking at how they can disengage from reliance on US trade and how the likes of Amazon pay 0.7% Corporation Tax in UK. #boycottUSA

Threatening tarriffs on France and "we need Greenland". It's terrifying.

Why would US be interfering in a tiny little country like Venezuela? Nobel Peace Prize? Oil reserves?

@iandunt.bsky.social Looks like the LBC official posting team misread this. A bit shoddy actually. It would never happen at BBC (perhaps). ukandeu.ac.uk/immigration_...

#budget2025 Old v young is not about triple lock or tax, it's because pensioners now had 50 years of irrational property inflation. Build more, tackle vacant & under-occupied, Incentivise over-55s to downsize by reduced or nil SDLT. Reduce IHT nil rate band back to the £100k prior to Tory 2017 rise.

#budget2025 Mansion tax" being added to Council Tax will be based on VOA 2026 valuations. Council Tax is still based on 1991 values ignoring regional price changes and extensions.. If they can value the £2m+ they should level up & update all property values for the 35 years since it started

#christmas Is it really worth it for the retailers to make us suffer these food ads for 6 weeks when we already know that we will buy a bit more food from our preferred shop for about a week in mid December? My guess is only the ad agencies profit.

Is uk politics in a dull phase, apart from for those who make a living talking about it? Don't get me wrong, most of them do it very well, but it does look like a "they're all the same" dormant period until Reform either succeed, or don't. I'll check back at the end of May, may be clearer by then.

@heidialexander.bsky.social So sad to see another regional airline collapsing. I know it's not very "net zero" but tiny contribution compared to gap yearers "doing Bali" etc so why not a nationalised subsidised internal airline?

#AFLW Low scoring seems to be down to kicking distances. Decent field kicks from the back but poor penetration into the 50. They need to get 15m inside to have a chance, so many fell short and tipped behind in that match.

#AFLW but Painter wasted it!

#aflw Sponsor choices are interesting, mineral exploitation or disgusting US fast food? Anyway, there's a quarter of footy left so perhaps another time...

#AFLW we need to get over the low scoring. It's a different game to the blokes but just as exciting. Ella Roberts best player of first half but don't rule out a Suns comeback.

I live in a Labour constituency but am now reluctant to strike up conversation in a pub because almost always becomes something like "Starmer is letting them all in & they get everything straight away etc" Rayner is right, we have left social cohesion behind.
