The rich know this. The rich know that either they fall in line behind the fascists and serve them, or end up on the outside looking in. It's always been the rich who served the fascists, who took their marching orders from the fascists. Not the other way around.

Fascism is destructive at its core.

The point of #fascism is not to "serve the rich." The point is to amass all power, political and economic, in the hands of the fascist elite. If the fascist regime can only control 40% of the economy, and they destroy 50% of the economy they don't control, they then control 70% of the economy.

Netanyahu's referring to Israel as "the Jewish state" and the denial of spousal rights of non-Israeli Palestinians married to Israeli Palestinians, signals to me that the multicultural character of Israel may come to an end. Especially amid the democratic backsliding.

Minor point to make that there are Arabs and Palestinians who are Israeli citizens with full equal rights and representation in government, and the Arab language and Islam have a privileged position *within* the pre-1967 borders.

But their campaign of vengeance and terror in Gaza is inexcusable.

My Jewish grandmother, born in Berlin, fled Germany in 1937 as a teen. Since she was officially Polish by descent, she could emigrate to the US, which saved her life.

It will take radical reform - proportional representation, expanding the House, killing the Senate - to fix the structural problems that leave us with binary choices. But we don't have time. Best we can do is invade the Democratic Party at the primary level.

We can primary all of their asses and nominate candidates who have gonads and are willing to offer struggling Americans a genuine alternative that beats MAGA at their own populist game. But unfortunately, that's gonna have to happen within the Democratic Party.

Right now we don't have another opposition party, and we don't have time to establish one. Democrats are cancer, but MAGA is a heart attack, and we can't treat the cancer until we stabilize the patient. As long as we have winner-take-all elections, we will have two parties. This is political reality

I am by no means "defending" the Democrats. I am furious with the Democrats, arrogant idiots who provide nothing of substance and believe urban demographics, Hollywood, and educated suburbanites will save them because Orange Man Bad. I wouldn't shed a tear if the party were dismantled. However...
