And sometimes the candidate most likely to win in a swing state or district may seem boring or frustratingly "moderate" or "too old" to some. But in politics, winning is the only thing. You can't fight if you lose elections.

In congressional politics, there is actually a rule for fighting and winning elections in swing states and districts: Recruit the candidates with the best chance of prevailing and support them.

I can't quite tell from this story what the "club's" goals are. But if they oppose the recruitment and support of candidates most likely to win, then it is a club that is not really focused on winning fights.

And Trump will probably not stand for letting either of the indictments of what he considers to be his arch enemies go away. And Trump, at this point, effectively is the DOJ.

It is amazing how little recognized, and how quickly forgotten, Biden's achievements were. Any Democrats who want to build on the New Deal and Great Society legacies, as many now say they aspire to, will also need to look to what Biden started.

Leaving that question to one side, I entirely agree that - if Bondi, et al. had an ounce of sense, they will let this one go, and not appeal. But they lack common sense......
