Eventually the people who scoffed at Chapman and said he wasn’t enough, then scoffed at Sandoval and said he wasn’t enough and who are scoffing at Buehler will need to admit that they either just want to complain or they have unrealistic expectations for the offseason.

Astros land a solid hitter in Christian Walker. They were in need of a first baseman.
Walker increased his barrel % by 7.6 points last year and could see a few extra home runs due to the Crawford boxes in Houston (which will still be Minute Maid to me for the next few years at least).

Sox should be talking to Trevor Williams about a 2/25 contract. He struggled as a starter in 2023, but was fantastic over 13 starts in 2024 with a lower FIP than any of our current starters.

It’s going to take about 3 years until I decide if I’m disappointed about the Sox missing out on Soto or not.

Red Sox should look at veteran leftie reliever Danny Coulumbe. Over the last 3 seasons he has a 2.41 ERA over 93.1 IP with a 165 ERA+. They could likely get him on a one year, sub $5million contract.
