Final version of the self-portrait from a mirror in the garden. This went late into the fall. The jacket helped with the cold mornings but, also I think it works better in the composition. I like that this took several unexpected turns as it developed. #pleinair #painting #art #portrait #landscape

Super excited about this plein air I just finished. Been working on this all summer. Added in my wife and daughter while they were working/playing. M moved from the grass to the kale bed part way- I couldn’t decide which to paint out so I left both. 🤣 #art #pleinair #painting #landscapepainting

Talk about delayed gratification. I’ve been waiting for a sunny day day in Clam Gulch so I can drive up and finish this painting of my friend Ron on his property. A lot of the finishing touches will be shadow work so I need a sun blazing kind of day. I’m patient. #painting #portrait #art
