Trump says that the US will "run the country". This is not freedom, peace, or democracy. PM Carney doesn't know what is democracy.

Minority parliaments, in theory: Parties forced to work together, government held to account, real compromise, substantive accomplishment.

Minority parliaments, in reality: IS THERE GOING TO BE AN ELECTION THIS WEEK? WHAT ABOUT NEXT WEEK?

Why do you think property tax is a poor choice to fund education? In NS, the province set a 0.3% rate admintered by municipalities. Administratively it is more efficient for there to be only one property tax bill.

1/ OK I need to update this one. It's complicated, mainly because the budget is about a year out of date in its temporary resident data. It says they wanted to go from 670K in 2024 to 370K in 2026, but my look at data for 2025 says we're *already* heading for a number below that (about 320K).
Kneecap to the PSE sector - TOTAL temporary resident target (TFWs plus international students) to be roughly halved, from 670K to 370K.

That's minimum a $2 Billion hit to the sector. Probably more. Will work this out later
