He doesn't want us to back down; he just wants to go to the beach.

Some gall to send a fundraising email the same hour this video is circulating.

Yes, I am recording six weeks of lecture videos for an online course in one day.

And, no, I will not wear the same shirt in all of them, even if the hair is a giveaway.

It's mind-boggling that appalling things like this happen and the response from Democrats, including ones I really like, is to send a fundraising appeal about it.

This is the funniest thing I’ve read all week. (From Mary Hunter Austin’s Earth Horizon)

Final stretch of research for this book. First stop: the main Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, which is just about as pleasant as any archive reading room.

Happy 420 from Team Fetterman. I can’t think of anything else important happening right now. 🤔

Tbh, it’s easier dealing with my GOP senator than my Democratic one who’s this unserious.

This was from Sunday so I’ll give them some benefit of the doubt, but I’m so f*ing sick of this “sleepwalking” framing from legacy media. Yeah, things are bad. But countless people are trying to stop it. Nobody is sleepwalking into anything.

Rare occurrence (at least in my experience):landing to the south on runway 17 at PHL. Great views of the city and a very low pass over I-95.

At PHL three hours early for a flight? Perfect excuse for the ultimate airport comfort food.

“A publication for all America.” Hahahahaha.

This is really good and I've eaten way too much of it. 10/10 highly recommend. (and I'm not a huge Jeni's fan)

If you're peddling some gimmicky ed tech product and this is your opening pitch, just stop right there. My answer will be no.

Seriously

The worst kind of weather. Small wonder everyone is low energy today.

I love a good vintage livery

Posted this on the other place as well but really feeling it:

As a PBS kid of a certain era, there's one role that I'll forever associate James Earl Jones with no matter how famous he was for other things.

Spending an afternoon of spring break grading is not fun. Fortunately, there’s Jeni’s new powdered jelly donut flavor to make things better.

Unexpected perk of a later teaching schedule this semester: the view out of my office window at twilight is particularly lovely.

I admit that I post this partly because I'm pleased with myself but also as a PSA that while often boring, indoor treadmill runs during winter are great for pace training.

Another big win for Dems in PA on Tuesday: Allegheny County executive. I didn't realize just how much the GOP threw at this race.

This is literally every academic meeting I’ve ever been to

I haven’t seen this confirmed elsewhere but amazing news if true

Some excellent weekend reading. This was such a needed book, and I can’t think of a more perfect historian to write it.
