It is time for those of us who believe in the American ideal—where the Constitution is binding even upon the President and whatever party currently holds a congressional majority—to rededicate ourselves to the unfinished work that the capitol police preserved for the day on #jaunary6th

The Civil War took a little over 4 years to be officially resolved but 5 years after #January6th it feels like we have not even reached our Gettysburg in this war for the soul of America.

When America has been attacked by foreign adversaries (Pearl Harbor, 9/11) Americans rallied together and acted decisively against the threat but the Civil War and #January6th both set us against each other and even from the Civil War some wounds still fester.

Apparently I'm not the first to think of this (although my version is simpler and avoids a bunch of rematches)

This year that would be:
Oregon
Ole Miss
A&M
Oklahoma
Notre Dame
Miami
Texas
Vanderbilt.

Pair them up in NFL stadiums based on geography and avoiding rematches as much as possible.

Any school opting out is excluded from the CFP that year (and replaced by the next highest ranked willing team).

• Teams getting in with only 12 games (Oregon, Ole Miss, Notre Dame)
• Teams not getting a chance to prove they belong because they missed the conference championship (Miami, Texas, Vanderbilt)

Frankly, I think it's nonsense to leave out any team that goes 11-1 playing a Power 4 schedule in favor of any 10-2 (or 9-3) team. The only way an 11-1 (regular season) Power 4 team should ever be left out is if there are too many of them in a given year to fit in the 5 guaranteed conference […]

I would argue that whoever makes the cut now (before conference championships) and plays in a conference championship should stay in regardless of their championship game results.

The only thing they couldn't know were the specific numbers: 27% slowdown in the US (2.2% -> 1.6%) and 6% slowdown globally (3.1% -> 2.9%).

And the 8th grader thing: my recent 8th grader picked up equally complex information about Minecraft because he cared enough to search it out.
