Why do you think the government is so keen on AIs?
November 26, 2025 at 1:52 PM
To answer the direct question: Fox News and/or similar.

I have a gut feeling that, somehow, the statistics on "perverse verdicts" could be an indicator of the health of our justice system.

Not necessarily contradictionally.

Look up the London "Mail Rail" system...

Good Luck!

Being able to field swap batteries, screens, keyboards, and all other components including the main circuit board was a major factor in my choice when I last bought a laptop.

The proportion of "perverse" verdicts might make one viable measure of the health of the justice system. No juries suppresses this measure.

It increases the value of any institutional capture of other components of the justice system they succeed in achieving.

Sounds like horse-trading to me...

Not my advice but it seemed to make a lot of sense when it was given to me.

I do hope you have a good experience and get a helpful result. 🤞

But the EU is a very process-driven organisation, and that implies following "the rules". So it is likely to find it difficult to switch mind set to something different.

But it will have to.

Never had a formal assessment myself but a friend has and she said if I ever had one I should try to unmask and *not* try to suppress answers because they were inappropriate.

Hard to unmask to a stranger, but the point is to reveal those differences.

I've found that in the past 5 years or so, most people are much more prepared to listen at least a bit. I think this may be due to the public figures who have "come out" changing people's perceptions at least a bit.

But then I've been fortunate enough to work in a very mixed environment.
November 23, 2025 at 8:27 PM
I don't mind people who are ignorant but really get wound up by people who won't *listen* or who won't accept someone who's a bit different. I usually disengage as quickly as I can in these circumstances to try and avoid making an enemy.

But each to their own.

I suspect Trump genuinely regrets the loss of life. It would have been far better for these people to have lived and been working to make money for a business owned either by himself or by one of his family or "friends".

And *that*'s making a noticeable difference now, not so much in what I can do but how *much* I can do.

The one good thing (in the UK) is that good medics seem open to discussing this without trying to fob me off. Probably helps quite a lot that I'm male and of traditional English ancestry.

I'm 75, always known I was different, not known why until 5 years ago, masked successfully(-ish) enough to operate in society. And I work in tech, specifically IT Security. But my personal life has been affected quite a bit.

What I'm finding as I get older is I have less energy to put into masking.

I do feel there are some limited circumstances where FPV drones would be an appropriate tool; for example some hostage situations. But very few. I remain to be convinced this is what's being asked for...

Brings a whole new context to "Reform School"...

However there's another argument. An old saying says "Dog bites man, not news; Man bites dog, *that's* news". By analogy, it's news when an immigrant commits a crime but not when a Brit commits a crime...

I'm 75 so grew up with a similar experience of the BBC. I now think the stories they tell are still very largely accurate in detail. What's *way* off is the choices of which stories are told, and which "talking heads" get to comment. /
