My wife and I spent our honeymoon there (1992). Ate numerous times at Pitarra, a restaurant in the Barri Gotic that Picasso once frequented. The food was spectacular, and the proprietor rewarded our 'loyalty' with a complementary apple-based liqueur called Golden Ger. It was the best liqueur ever.

Every day it's something else, yet another indication that democracy (or the possible of democracy, however unrealized, which, sadly, is a more accurate descriptor) is rapidly giving way to a police state.

Liked specifically for '...it wasn't like that. It wasn't halcyon.' Memories are so often acts of re-invention—fueled by need or desire. A core belief, though I wish it wasn't so. But I would rather be unsettled by honesty than content in a self-deception. Or so I like to tell myself.
