AI for analytics? Not so fast. @tgwilson.bsky.social lays out the reasons for human job security in the face of AI + Data.
Is your inbox blowing up with (AI-generated) emails from tech companies promising that their AI-powered platforms will automate the discovery of actionable insights in your data? You can send those emails to the trash, according to @tgwilson.bsky.social: thefocus.factsandfeelings.io/ai-for-insig...
AI for Insights? We’ve Been Here Before.
Generative AI is a powerful technology for analytics. But, not in the way it is most commonly hyped — automating the discovery of insights.

Should you really be pursuing inbox zero or Jira ticket zero when it comes to analytics requests? Turns out there may be a better way. And it doesn't involve working the weekend.
Using data to grow your business can be exhilarating, but it can also be exhausting. Analyst burnout is real. The misalignment between business leader expectation and analyst capacity is frustrating for everyone. The answer: better collaboration. bit.ly/3AiLz5a
Are Your Analysts Burning Out Over the Volume of Requests of Your Team?
Analysts get burned out from unending requests. The way out of this mess won’t be found in a ticketing system or self-service training.

Ask not what the business can do for data. Ask what the data can do for the business. Another mind-shifting piece from @tgwilson.bsky.social
Have you got your server-side tracking zero party data clean room CDP strategy fully built out and funded? Good for you. @tgwilson.bsky.social makes the case that, well, maybe there would be better areas of focus in his latest piece: thefocus.factsandfeelings.io/investing-mo...
Investing More to Backslide Slower
The shifting privacy landscape is limiting the data we collect. Too many organizations are responding by chasing complex tech workarounds.

The setting: an AirBnB in Chicago. The task: refine the approach we would take to help our clients align and prioritize. The input: copious amounts of snacks from Trader Joe's. The output: a network diagram that visually communicates how solution hypotheses are connected to problems and goals.
We're excited to share the story of how our favorite network diagram came to be and all the heavy lifting it does to help clients with goal-centricity, problem focus, and prioritization of hypotheses!

Focus is…Insight.
Most companies that boast about being “data-driven” are actually “data-distracted.” Genuine insight requires depth, direction and focus.

"What you do sounds like OKRs..." To which we say yes, AND...
At facts & feelings we talk a lot about being goal centric and how to set meaningful goals. Does that mean we want to blow up what you have in place on day 1? 🧨 No. We'll leave that to the mgmt consultants. Here's how we work with orgs that use OKRs!

Ready to scale? Time to focus? We can restore meaning to words that have become trite when we are purposeful with their use. Matty does just that in his latest article for @lessandbetter.bsky.social.
"Focus. It resides somewhere near “pivot,” “disrupt” and “transform” in the hall of “words that once had meaning but which have since been stripped of their specificity through overuse and misuse.” Read more from our Board Chair, Matty Wishnow! thefocus.factsandfeelings.io/focus-is-sca...
Focus is…Scale.
“Scale” denotes something different for startups than for established businesses. But in both cases, focus is the key ingredient.

We've all been there. Rather than taking the time to discuss what's important, we just collect everything. Because it is so easy. And cheep. But is it? Once again, @tgwilson.bsky.social is here to show a better way.
It's easy to collect that additional data "just in case" it becomes useful down the road. It can seem like a no-brainer because, hey, storage is cheap! @tgwilson.bsky.social makes the case for *not so fast there*! thefocus.factsandfeelings.io/the-tyranny-...
