With this, I can show how videogames featuring rogues are predisposed to certain mechanics and narratives due to the influence of Picaresque Literature. This is the first step on a series of papers where I will further study the consequences

In this paper we explore the role of Picaresque Literature in the development of the early years of the "thief" class in Dungeons & Dragons and how it created a bridge between Literature, fandom and developers. This phenomenon lead to quite interesting changes in the industry. Take a look!
