Beaming with pride that Jordan Polster, a student in my lab at Yale, was selected for the #Gilliam #Fellowship from @hhmi.org

I look forward to mentoring Jordan and participating in the various mentorship workshops.

Jordan - congrats! And I can’t wait to see your research advance!

Lunch outing with the lab to celebrate Jordan’s brilliant qualifying exam (she passed with flying colors)! And, also celebrated a 1%ile score on the lab’s R01 on mucosal vaccines for respiratory viruses. Fingers crossed for the NOA!

I don’t know what’s better: 1) Getting pilot funds on my birthday for a completely new research area of the lab, or 2) getting a super awesome hand-made card from mentees with heartfelt messages. This are the ups of academia no one talks about but I’m here to remind you. Let’s go! 🙏🏽 #happylab

A successful joint holiday party with @carolilucas.bsky.social, Ben Israelow,‬⁩ and #laurent-rolle lab groups! Our groups have monthly joint lab meetings so we decided to have a joint lab holiday party. White elephant gift exchange was fun as always #happylabs ⁦‪#YaleImmunobiology

Thanks to the La Jolla Institute for Immunology Postdoc Association for inviting me to beautiful San Diego! It was great to talk about career trajectory, academia, industry etc over dinner. The best part of this job is mentoring the next generation of scientists.

Great talk at Yale by Michael Worobey on the molecular evidence surrounding the emergence of SARSCoV2. Like a detective taking evidence apart piece by piece, there truly is only one show in town.

Also nice to finally meet in person!
