We still have no idea who the ICE agents are. They could be insurrectionists, extremist militiamen or criminals themselves, chasing law-abiding citizens down the street for recording their kidnappings. The odds they aren't are low. Congress must raise hell about this. A masked gang runs our country.

If Trump is NOT a Russian asset, would he behave any differently if he were?

I have canceled my subscription to the Washington Post. It has become clear that Bezos does not prioritize journalistic integrity over either his own ideology or profit.

Tired of walking into coffee shops in which every table has lap tops open on it and there’s no seating, I DO appreciate THIS, though maybe it’s worth remembering that nerdy twits like Hemingway hogged all the tables too, in 1920s Paris.

To escape the 21st century for a few hours I’ll visit the 20th by seeing THE BRUTALIST this evening, in 70 mm.

Nothing brings a guy down to earth like the wardrober saying, “you are an executive cut,” during the fitting.

If your boss or company tells you to do something unethical: don't say yes. Make them write it down.
If they won't put it in writing yourself. Send an email (bcc yourself?): "Following our conversation on x date at x time regarding x, I am writing to clarify your directives. According to my notes, you instructed me to A, B, and C. If any of this is incorrect, please advise. I have some concerns."

This week I learned the difference between the psychological defenses of “denial” and “disavowal,” the later being more pernicious. We’re all going about our lives knowing a fascist coup is underway, we know it’s dangerous, but act as if it’s not—all of us, but many elected GOP reps, especially.

No longer on Threads or LinkedIn. Still on Insta (non-political for me) and FB, where my community is extensive. Will try to figure out how best to use Bluesky, perhaps as a portal to our new podcast, “Every Day Courage.” May try to figure out how to use microblog, for op-ed length essays.

We need a new mass protest movement. Now.

I was going to create a cheap-ass DYI podcast. But, I am so pissed, I’m gonna put some money into this thing, so we can reach as many people as we possibly. The main subject is not political, but the underlying intent is. We – – and everybody else – – have got to ‘get to it’ as quickly as we can.

The stage role in which I accomplished the least of what I intended was Malvolio — and I played him for a YEAR. I accomplished the most of what I hoped for when playing STANEK, in Havel’s PROTEST, though I also remain pleased by my go at Mayor Superba, in THE MINUTES.

My first artistic heroes were Ray Bradbury and Saul Bellow. They were not actors or directors. They were, however, cinemagraphic, as well as—especially in Bellow’s case—richly interior. Sparks flew off the anvil of their prose.

Just a quick 'thank you' to one particular NYC casting associate who calls me in frequently and everyone in my NYC circle of actors knows them for being generous and kind. I won't name them so as not to be seen as sucking up, but they're great.

I failed at journalism and academic philosophy before acting, but my grandfather (who gave back more than he took) was a successful architect and builder, so I never had to work a day job, allowing me in time to find a way. This is MY dirty little secret—so many who look successful have one like it.
