For fans of #WolfHall #TheMirrorAndTheLight : the signature of Sir Ralph Sadler as head of the Muster Commissioners for Hertfordshire in 1584. Sadler was then in his mid-70s and still active in royal service. From State Papers Domestic, Elizabeth I, SP12/169, held in National Archives at Kew

Favourite item from British Museum #SilkRoads exhibition. Coin of King Offa of Mercia (757-796 AD). Words Offa Rex stamped on an English copy of an Abbasid dinar from reign of Caliph al-Mansur. Muslim declaration of faith - the Shahadah-around edge of the coin's face
