It’s not bizarre, it’s just cheap. Any other measures would cost money.

Except it’s not necessarily an indicator of prejudice. It might simply be a statement of the current law or even, perhaps, a comment on its ridiculousness.

The chance he had against Ipswich showed that. No confidence at all. He should have scored or at the very least forced the keeper to make a decent save.

Everyone around me in the south stand has turned him into this season’s scapegoat. He’s not that bad but he does need to learn how to put in a decent cross.

Precisely. There’s a great photo from the 1950s(?) of a commuter train into New York in which every single person is sitting there reading a newspaper. The medium may have changed but the substance hasn’t.
