Sadly, just as we need succinct analysis of grave societal challenges, the @nytimes.com, still so influential, has succumbed to a major peril of the online age––endless verbiage, most clearly evident in otherwise-trenchant op-eds. They last for 40 paragraphs, reducing their audience and impact.
