You are so right. I called out to the tv “why don’t we have players that get rebounds?” and then noticed Jake Evans get a rebound second shot. Doesn’t happen often. Hoping the next wave of bottom 6 has that.

In tonight’s case, they reduced shots against, but the quality of those shots were tough. Werenski walks in unopposed, free shot from the slot and a net front tip on the PP.

Slaf excelled and was strong net front presence on Hutson’s (or whoever may get credit) tying goal. Bolduc just needs to bury some chances vice missing the net. Beecher on waivers from Bruins (if he lasts to is), big center who can skate.

When had Demidov scored in a shootout? He has moves, but not much finish. We have such expectations of him, but very little proof that he can come close to those. Of course he’ll score on his next 5 shootout attempts and I’ll eat crow (gladly).

Beck or Florian can play center and kill penalties. More uses for MSL.
November 18, 2025 at 3:02 AM
I’d love a comeback, but I just don’t see it happening.
November 18, 2025 at 2:32 AM
I think Werenski was surprised at the amount of room he had.

Makes one wonder about the Roy call up. Davidson seems like the best fit for replacing Newhook and I liked his game. But Dach is a center and Roy is not. That leaves Habs thin there. Guys like Beck or Florian can play both C and W and could kill penalties. That would give MSL more flexibility.

Ah Carrumba!! He was playing so well!
November 16, 2025 at 4:53 PM
Newhook had found his chair and poof, gone for a long time. Evans, though not physical, had his chair as PK specialist who is good on faceoffs. A potential problem with 3 scoring lines is rounding out specialists, but guys can have dual roles and get it done.

The 2 guys behind the net?
November 16, 2025 at 1:06 AM
We are lucky to be at 1-1.

Monty bit hard on the pass to pasta.
November 16, 2025 at 12:38 AM
Would like to see another teammate called up with him. Davidson has done it all to be the first call-up, but wouldn’t mind someone else also getting a shot to sit Velano for awhile.

Ah Carrumba! I had to look up where the muscle was, so it looks like a continuation of the groin injury. Either it was more serious than they thought or he aggravated it while getting ready to return. The guy had tough luck!

Great insight on Slaf. Yes he is progressing nicely, but him having the puck near the blueline leads to trouble. On the PP, there are 4 better options up high in the OZone. Down low, different story. He’s much better there.

Pat Riley fired a Van Gundy the day Shaq was coming back to the lineup because of injury. Riley looked great with a healthy Shaq. Van Gundy needed to spend time with his family (yeah right).

Nice goal by Armia also. He would look good next to Evans, but Habs needed to get younger.
November 12, 2025 at 4:14 PM
Habs suffered against Kings size and board ability. Kings went high to low and back to high often while supporting a cycle. Habs had hard time breaking the cycle and took penalties. Their goalie was better than ours. Once again, Arber not a minus.
November 12, 2025 at 6:26 AM
Couldn’t make passes tonight. Not as effective on the boards as LA kind of lives there, so they can handle themselves.
November 12, 2025 at 2:32 AM
Who’s left? Danault. There’s still time.
November 12, 2025 at 2:23 AM
Their goalie is better than ours.
November 12, 2025 at 1:59 AM
Kings love it when you move pucks to the boards. They are bigger and agile along the boards. Habs have not figured out 6 on 5. Kings sill one us.

The Demi effect has worn off. Maybe we should see that shot if his.
November 12, 2025 at 1:48 AM
He wanted to come out of school and get paid. Flyers told him to stay another year. Things didn’t go well communication-wise, so Gauthier said see-ya.
